Continuing on our trip we made our way from Farmington, NM over toward Shiprock.  From there  we would  make our way south to Chinle, AZ and Canyon de Chelly.  But that is getting ahead of myself.  So I have a few images of Shiprock.  It is not easy to get to.  The roads are dirt in the best of times and certainly the worst in mud in the worst in times.  I would suggest a high clearance vehicle at least or a four wheel drive.  I, unfortunately, did not.  So I got as close as I could and used both my 70-300mm and my 35-150mm lenses.  I took both IR and visible light images.  The images here are the IR images.  I do want to go back, especially when I have more time and when I have an appropriate vehicle so that I can explore more the area around Shiprock.  By the way, Shiprock is revered by Native Americans as holy ground.  So if you go out there be respectful.

One last thing.  Although all the images are IR images some were brought into photoshop and processed as I would normally process B&W.  Those, however, with the blue tint to them were produced by channel swapping.  I have a lot to learn about the processing of IR images but on a whole I am satisfied with these.
