I have just completed a level 2 class in what is known as Miksang Contemplative Photography. In the first level one concentrates on color, texture, light, space, shadow and dot in space. One is also not allowed to make any changes to the image once it is taken. Regardless, I am very happy that I took these two courses because they have given me a different perspective in the development of my photography. The following image was initially taken during one of the classes but because I converted it to black and white it would no longer qualify as a Miksang image. However, I like the black and white image because it brings out the texture in the wall itself. This is not readily seen in the color image because the change in the colored wall is very subtle.
